A Bit of All

Image
I have eaten cheeses the softest cheese; I have eaten nuts the hardest nut; I have eaten sweets the sweetest sweet; I have eaten biles the bitterest bile; I have been given a couple of packages; the wildest squirms and the loveliest tickles; the half-moon sometimes remained stable in my sky while the full moon played hide and seek; the cheerful sun made me want to swear and the sorrowful sky’s tears foiled my plans; the kind light gave me a ray of hope and the sinister darkness comforted me best; I have had a bit of all they had had a bit of all; these bits swallowed them I swallowed these bits.

Why Not Go Astray?

Robed in soil Blood boil Yelling hunger and dear monger Why this maddening anger? Why sue her when she's only soothe in soot? And her wares thief loot? No light in her eyes Clouds fill her skies Energy lost trinket earned Her soul she erred Holding to hope of eternity Cowering from infidelity. Hope dashed Happiness bashed With savings lover absconded Pain seconded Why not change her ways And go astray? Here is a poem about life situation of a woman who is living quite a tough life.  In the first stanza, the woman is said to be 'robed in soil', meaning that she is in a completely poor state. 'Blood boil' this could result from the frustration derived from not able to meet her needs. 'Yelling hunger' her hunger is said to be yelling meaning that she must have left herself hungry and act as if unaware that the hunger has to yell. 'dear monger, why this maddening anger' she must have owe the monger some debts that the monger had to get 'really'...

The Less Privileged

Pretty petty flowers by pathways With no flowerpot or caretaker Smacked by the seething sun Whipped by the sky's tears Trampled by every pissed off passerby The survivors you visit Their pollens you steal And they you made wither But another is brought alive And the cycle continues. Here is a poem about the less privileged ones in the society and how unfairly they are treated. The poem shows the cycle of how their lives are lived. How they are maltreated and exploited by the victimizers, how they die struggling but already have younger ones who end up continuing the cycle. Poetic devices include Imagery, metaphor and personification.
