Pot besieges charcoal
Charcoal rages
Pot is heated.
Egg attacks water
Water seethes
Egg boils.
Trash frustrates fire
Fire flares up
Trash burns.
Flour invades oil
Oil fumes
Flour is captivated.
We order our minds
Our minds rebel
We wail.
Here is a philosophical poem about life. The poem explains to us why our minds rebel by giving examples of other things that rebel and what leads to their rebellion.
The examples given are: pot besieges charcoal when it is placed on it and when charcoal rages or becomes live, it gets pot heated. Egg attacks water when it is thrown into it and when water seethes on fire, egg boils. Trash frustrates fire when it is heaped on it but when fire flares up, trash is burnt. Flour invades oil and when oil fumes on fire, flour is captivated. Therefore, when we order our minds and do whatever we like even when we do what is not right, our minds play along and later rebel so when we discover that we are no longer in control, we wail. This is why we get addicted to many things and are unable to stop. We started it and our minds simply rebel.
The poem is in five stanzas with each stanza having three lines. The predominant poetic device is personification as seen in every stanza.
